Taking Time To Reflect...

I think as young adults, we can get so caught up in what we don't have and forget to be grateful and realize what we actually do have. Instead of thanking God for waking us up, or putting us in a great position in our careers, or being able to have a car, a home, great friends and family; we complain about what we don't have, not realizing that what we do currently have is such a blessing and most times, something everyone cannot say they have.

I believe that instead of looking at the negatives in our life, taking time to reflect on what you have is very uplifting. Not just materialistic items, but emotional support, love, and things of that nature.

  1. instead of saying, why am I single -> understand that God hasn't found someone he feels that is worthy of having you yet; he's saving you for the RIGHT one.

  2. Instead of complaining about not having money -> Reflect on what you have been spending on, minimize that spending, and maybe pray for guidance on the subject.

  3. Instead of complaining about the situation you are in-> Look for the signs God is sending (because He is always sending signs) we just have to pay attention to them and realize what is not for you and open yourself up to what God has in store for you.

These are just some examples, I know I tend to dwell on sometimes.

The second you stop complaining and reflecting on the great things that are happening in your life, you'll see how blessed you are. So, for every negative thing that you go through,  keep pushing forward, knowing that its all apart of God's plan.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you, not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
